Health Care Reform and General Healthiness

The results were telling. Most Americans do not understand the plan. Even those who consider themselves health-savvy or pro-President Obama did not fully comprehend the general points of the new reform.

Last week 102 Health Activists participated in the survey, but it's still a hot topic and a really important issue and we'd like to hear from everyone. We want to learn more about what you're seeing online:

Do you think members of your other online health communities have a good understanding of the changes proposed in the President's health care plan?

More specifically: How do you think health care reform would affect people with weight problems? What would you like to see in the reform that would positively affect the general healthiness of everyone? What sort of diet and nutrition regimens or procedures do you think should be included in the reform? Should alternative medicine be included? How?

Healthy Living With Reclining Furniture

If you have experienced back pains after sitting for long hours in front of the computer or television, you will benefit greatly from having reclining furniture in your office or living room. Reclining furniture does not only offer optimal luxury and comfort; it can also prevent back pains and contribute significantly to your overall health.

Contour Glider Recliner

It has been reported that more than 95% of doctors in the US recommend the use of recliners. When you sit for long hours on an ordinary chair, tension will accumulate in your lower back and cause back pain. It will weaken the lumbar area and result in serious complications later on in your life. With a reclining chair, your weight will be distributed to other areas of your body, and this will greatly reduce the risk of back pain. Most reclining pieces also provide support for your neck, shoulder, elbow, and upper back to make you feel as relaxed and comfortable as possible.

Other than relieving back pain, reclining furniture can also help to reduce stress. As people become busier with their work these days, they will feel greater physical and mental fatigue. You need time to unwind, so that your body can repair itself. If you spend some time sitting on a recliner everyday, you will feel more rejuvenated, and you can perform your daily duties with more vigor. Also, it has been proven that reclining furniture can help to reduce blood pressure, prevent swelling, relieve pressure on joints, enhance mental and emotional health, and promote good posture.

Eating Healthy Guide

My parents always told me about when they grew up, you know those "well when I was your age" stories that seem to always be blown out of proportion. These stories always seem to be trying to make us look bad, you know like "when I was your age I didn't get new clothes, I had to wear hand me downs."

I recently heard the best when i was your age story. I was at a fast food join with my mom and we got our meal which included 2 sodas and 2 french fries and our so called main course. Well at this point my mom proceeded to tell me "when I was your age our large sodas were the size of your smalls, and the same with our fries" I wasn't very surprised at all but it made me think, and I'm quite disgusted with the current state of our country.

But I have found a solution to this problem, EAT HEALTHY! All you need to do is implement a few changes and you can be living a much happier, much healthier life style. If we all start to slowly implement a healthy eating strategy we can change it back to the way it used to be, back to the good old days.

Now I know what you are thinking. How the heck do I eat healthy, I don't know the first place to start. Well a great place to start is with water!

Yup water, just drink water instead of soda or juices, and drink lots of it. Also you should break up your meals into 6 smaller meals throughout the days so that you never feel hungry.
